Celtics Have Reportedly Expressed Interest In 3 Veterans
With a 38-12 record that leads the league, the Boston Celtics rank sixth in points per game, third in defensive rating, and second in offensive rating. They look to be the best team in the NBA thus far this season.
They are far from a flawless team, though, and one major area of concern is their bench.
The Celtics have shown interest in big man Kelly Olynyk, center Andre Drummond, and guard Delon Wright, according to NBC Sports Boston.
Olynyk, who spent four seasons with the Boston Celtics beginning with the 2013–14 campaign, is still a productive two-way player at the age of 32 who can score three points on the other end of the court and play some good defense.
For the Utah Jazz this season, he is averaging 8.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 20.5 minutes per game while shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range and 56.0 percent from the field.
He can play center or power forward at 6-foot-11 and 240 pounds, which would be helpful to the Celtics, who desperately need frontcourt depth.
In 15.8 minutes per game as a member, Drummond—a genuine center and backboard eater—achieves an average of 8.3 rebounds and 7.7 points.
of the Bulls in Chicago.
Currently a member of the Washington Wizards, Wright is a respectable three-point shooter with modest defensive ability.
When it comes to bench points per game, the Celtics are only 26th, which might affect them in the postseason, especially if their greatest player, Jayson Tatum, is on the bench.
