Wink Martindale has been replaced by a new player signed by the New York Giants.
Shane Bowen was appointed by the Giants on Monday as their new defensive coordinator. It took the Giants some time to narrow down their options before selecting Bowen.
Under Mike Vrable, Bowen, 37, had served as the Tennessee Titans’ defensive coordinator for the previous three seasons. Last season, Tennessee’s defense finished 16th in points and 18th in yards. In terms of points, they were ranked 14th in 2022.
2021’s sixth place. Although Bowen’s teams were adept at stopping the run, they had more trouble with the passing game.

Sphere transformed into 49ers and Chiefs headgear for Super Bowl week.
This week, a storm reminiscent of Super Bowl LVIII is rolling across the Mojave desert. Even the renowned Las Vegas Sphere has been engulfed in the football craze.
The Sphere is a giant circular stadium entirely covered with LED panels that is situated east of the Las Vegas Strip. Since its late 2023 opening, it has been a significant addition to Sin City.
On Monday, the over 400-foot structure served as a tribute to Super Bowl opening night. The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs helmets may be seen flashing on the displays as part of the Las Vegas skyline.
Seeing an NFL helmet almost as large as the Ferris wheel next to it must be rather startling. At least the faces of starting quarterbacks Brock Purdy and Patrick Mahomes, who were wearing them, weren’t superimposed. Some passers-by probably would have had nightmares after seeing that.
However, Mahomes has already appeared on the Sphere. Fortunately, it wasn’t only a headshot.
