Liverpool legend says 'brilliant' player has now dipped & 'doesn't get involved enough' in games | OneFootball

Ryan Gravenberch’s performance has taken a “dip” in recent weeks, according to John Aldridge, as the Dutchman finds it difficult to become fully engaged in games.

Naturally, as the former professional noted in his piece with the Echo, “Sometimes he looks brilliant but he doesn’t get involved enough in the games,” it’s unlikely to be a permanent downturn, similar to many other young players. He’s still young, so that will come. He will be coached into becoming that. After losing to Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, the Merseysiders will next host Burnley at home.

It’s a huge shame that Jurgen Klopp and his coaching team won’t be here to oversee the best the former Bayern Munich man will have to offer in a red shirt.

That’s not to suggest another coach couldn’t coax out Gravenberch’s best form, of course. There’s no doubt plenty of potential there to unlock in a footballer grossly mismanaged over in Germany.

With that in mind, we have to be patient with our No,38 – it’ll come in time.

Forget Diaz: Against Arsenal, Liverpool’s 43-touch maestro has been the team’s main destroyer.

It’s fair to say that during the first half of play at the Emirates Stadium, Liverpool was anything but spectacular.

However, despite the visitors falling behind 1-0 in the first forty-five minutes, Alexis Mac Allister was one of their few bright spots.

With some precise passing into the opposition’s half, the Argentine played a key role in disrupting opposition play and breaking lines.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion player is ranked fifth on Sofascore after winning five of the seven attempted ground duel matches and one aerial match.

Moving forward, the 24-year-old showed off his considerable industry as the midfielder completed 91% of his passes attempted (30/33), including two crucial plays.

Simply carrying out his business in silence while once more glowing in the middle of the park.

Though, we’d like to see our summer signing supported a little more in midfield, with the hosts mostly dominating in that area.
