The New York Giants made several moves to their coaching staff on Wednesday as they continue to shore up their personnel for next fall. New York made three in-house promotions while adding a position coach and assistant. Per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the Giants have hired Illinois Fighting Illini assistant Charlie Bullen as their outside linebackers coach. 

Additionally, the Giants have added assistant head coaching duties to offensive coordinator Mike Kafka’s job description. Meanwhile, quarterback coach Shea Tierney has earned pass-game coordinator responsibilities, while defensive back coach Jerome Henerson will also share the same role. Former Texas State and Tennessee Titans assistant Zak Kuhr will also serve as an assistant for the Giants next season. 

A newcomer to the New York Giants, Charlie Bullen, will be the outside linebackers coach next season. He spent last season with the Illinois Fighting Illini under the same job title. The Fighting Illini struggled on defense last season, allowing 29.4 points per game while finishing with a 6-7 record. Bullen served as the Arizona Cardinals’ outside linebackers coach from 2019 to 2022 under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. According to Bobby Skinner of Jomboy Media, pass rusher Cameron Thomas had the 18th-best win rate in 2022, Bullen’s last with the Cardinals. Meanwhile, Markus
