Devin Booker was excluded by Phoenix Suns head coach Frank Vogel.
Devin Booker was declared out of tonight’s Phoenix Suns game against the Utah Jazz by coach Frank Vogel due to left hip pain.
Vogel had first stated that Bradley Beal was a game-time decision due to a right ankle sprain sustained during Tuesday’s victory over the Bucks. However, Beal is now available. Both were initially marked as dubious.
This morning, Booker was added to the list of injuries. He is going to be replaced by Eric Gordon.
Vogel stated prior to kickoff, “(Booker) had some hip soreness from the game the other night and is not able to go.” “Hopefully it’s only temporary; he’ll be fine day to day.”
The loss of Booker ends a 16-game run in which all three of the team’s starters were available.
The only other player listed on the Suns’ injury report is Damion Lee, who underwent surgery on his right meniscus over the offseason.
The Suns will have minimal depth tonight after trading for Royce O’Neale and David Roddy today and sending out four players. With all three of its two-way players active, Phoenix will still have a total of 12 players available.
The Suns prevailed 140-137 in a contentious double overtime match between these two teams on November 19, following the officials’ overturning of a foul call against Kevin Durant, which would have given him three free throws and a chance to tie the game for Lauri Markkanen.
The Suns will try to complete the sweep over Utah tonight after being 3-0 overall against them this season. The Jazz, who have won 19 of their last 30, are blazing hot right now.
