Executives at Crystal Palace and Steve Parish, the club chairman, have made a

A crucial management decision has been made behind closed doors by Crystal Palace officials and club chairman Steve Parish in response to mounting pressure on Roy Hodgson.

Palace might end up in the Championship.
After a poor season, the Eagles are now squarely in the fight to stay in the league, with cries going around Selhurst Park for Hodgson to be relieved of his responsibilities.

The Palace supporters, who are becoming increasingly disillusioned with the club’s management, have escalated their protests further after the team’s 4-1 thrashing at the hands of rivals Brighton last weekend.

“The start wasn’t good. Being behind a goal against Brighton, a formidable club at home, is the last thing you really want, but in the first half, I felt like they outplayed us. Regarding Palace’s defeat against Brighton, Hodgson remarked, “We didn’t really get to grips with them in that half, and they were pretty much in control for that half.”

“We had a very difficult time at halftime because of the two goals that came right after one another. How are we going to get

The Palace administration is well aware that Hodgson’s team may suffer their first managerial relegation since their 2013 promotion from the Championship. There are rumors circulating that former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is the front-runner to succeed Hodgson.

In addition, there have been some reports that Parish intends to fire Hodgson in the middle of the season and find a replacement quickly. Bo Svensson and Julen Lopetegui are two more rumored contenders that have recently been brought up.

Though there have been some indications that Hodgson may be fired, reporter Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider has provided an important update on the situation.

Parish at Palace makes a managerial U-turn
In fact, based on the information they have, Palace has chosen to hold with Hodgson until the end of the current campaign, with Parish and club executives hoping to find a replacement in the summer.

This is the current situation, though, and the management will definitely think about firing him before the end of 2023–2024 if things worsen and the south Londoners keep up their unbeaten streak.

TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook discussed potential successors to Hodgson with GiveMeSport earlier this week.

“The Julen Lopetegui link is interesting because I think he has pushed himself forward,” stated Crook.

Don’t rule him out because he is eager to return to managing in the Premier League and has rejected offers from Saudi Arabia. However, it seems like Steve Cooper has always been the front-runner. Before giving Patrick Vieira the position, they were on the verge of appointing him. I have heard that he is eager to resume his career and is not interested in taking a protracted leave of absence.”
