Candidates for offensive coordinator at Iowa State University

The Los Angeles Rams have selected Iowa State offensive coordinator Nate Scheelhaase to fill a passing game specialist role. ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news first on Monday afternoon. Matt Campbell

Due to Scheelhaase’s exit from Iowa State, head coach’s offensive staff will be severely lacking for the Cyclones. Jordan Langs, Iowa State’s running backs coach, left the team after the 2023 season, leaving two openings on the offensive staff.

Scheelhaase was hired by Campbell to coach Iowa State’s running backs prior to the 2018 season, taking him away from his alma mater. He was elevated to wide receivers coach a year later, and he continued to coach there in 2020. Scheelhaase served as Iowa State’s running backs coach and wide receiver coach from 2021 to 2022.

Before the 2023 campaign, Scheelhaase succeeded Tom Manning as Iowa State’s offensive coordinator. In just one season of calling plays for Iowa State’s offense, the Cyclones concluded as the 7–6 team with the best offensive attack in the Big 12, ranking No. 10 in scoring, No. 12 in total offense, No. 11 in rushing, and No. 7 in throwing.

After a stellar first season as the Cyclone quarterback, Rocco Becht was also voted the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year. Last season, Becht completed over 3,100 yards of passing with 23 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.

Fit is crucial when filling open positions on his staff, according to Campbell, who made this revelation earlier in the offseason while discussing the replacement of long-tenured assistant coach Tyson Veidt, who left to take over as Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator.

Fit is the most important thing to him, he declared. Finding men who understand our culture and the goals of our program. That has always been the cornerstone of selecting the appropriate candidates and proceeding from there.

Colby Kratch, a former linebackers coach at North Texas, was hired by Campbell to succeed Veidt. Kratch was previously hired by Campbell as a GA at Toledo from 2013–14 and at Iowa State in 2017. Kratch served as Iowa State’s assistant director of player personnel from 2018 to 22.

For the third time in three seasons, Iowa State is again starting to look for an offensive coordinator. An early list of potential replacements for Scheelhaase at Iowa State is provided below.

These are the much-needed mashups of Star Wars and the NFL! Welcome to a gallery of concept football helmets created by artist John Raya, which imagines each of the 32 NFL clubs as a team worthy of playing in a distant galaxy. Put another way, you’re going to discover out what the New England Patriots would look like if they played on Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi palace.

We’ll also show you some of the greatest Star Wars costume that has been photographed during NFL games since the NFL and Star Wars are actually connected in the real world. These fanatics, as the photos show, came to dominate while rocking the greatest Darth Vader helmets—not to play.

Now for the wipe changeover. We now present our Star Wars-themed collection of everything NFL.

(Note: Information from Wookieepedia and StarWars.com databases was used to explain the Star Wars allusions on each helmet.)

Though they haven’t had a significant victory in a long time, the Miami Dolphins as the Rodia Greedos certainly look nice. In the first Star Wars film, Han Solo may or may not have shot Greedo, the bounty hunter from Rodia.

The New York Giants here take on the role of the Kuat Walkers. A walker is an enormous Imperial army vehicle in the Star Wars universe. In The Empire Strikes Back, Rebel pilots swiftly overthrew the AT-AT variants despite their amazing size.

This is a New York Jets-style helmet used by the Yavin 4 X-Wings, a Star Wars-themed football team. Yavin 4 was the planet where the Rebel troops used their X-wing fighters to assault the Death Star in the first Star Wars film.

Chew on this: Here, the Jags become the Kashyyk Wookiees. Chewbacca, the hero of our redesigned Jaguars helmet, and other Wookies call Kashyyk home in the hero Wars world.

This is what happens when the NFC North squad becomes the Dathomir Rancors after being drawn into the Star Wars vortex. Originating from the planet Dathomir, a rancor is a creature from Star Wars that viewers first see in Return of the Jedi in Jabba the Hutt’s stronghold.
