Stetson Bennett, the former great quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, had a difficult first season with the Los Angeles Rams. He missed the most of the season because of an unidentified off-field problem, raising concerns about his availability for the 2024–25 campaign.
Bennett’s future with the club was “unsure,” according to McVay last month, despite the fact that he thought Bennett was “doing better.” Though it’s undoubtedly positive news, there aren’t many details on his NFL future provided.
When pressed about Bennett once more on Thursday, McVay responded by assuring Los Angeles Times reporter Gary Klein that the club will “connect” with Bennett “at the appropriate time.”
“You decide, ‘Where are you at, all right?'” And we believe that reintegrating him into this ecosystem is best for him and our football team,” McVay added.
Again, it’s not exactly a certain response from McVay about Bennett’s future. At least it’s encouraging to hear him indicate that preparations are in place to reintegrate him into the team’s “ecosystem.”
Naturally, Bennett demonstrated his exceptional utility while attending Georgia, where he contributed to the team’s back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022.
Naturally, it is still unclear if he will ever be able to achieve a similar level of success in the NFL. But as long as his personal issues are under control, it would be good to see him given the opportunity to do so.
