Justin: There are three main things to appreciate about Everton.

Everton takeover: 777 quiet Josh as Wander is seen having discussions with the owner of Birmingham

Following reports that Josh Wander had been seen in discussions with the owner of Birmingham City, prospective new Everton owners 777 Partners declined to comment, according to Josimar.

Wander and Wagner were observed having a conversation on February 28 and 29, at the Financial Times’ Business of Football Summit 2024 in London.

Wagner is credited by Josimar with cofounding Knighthead Capital Management and serving as co-Chaiman of Knighthead  & Life Assurance Company, a Islands-registered business that also has ties toAnnuity .CSILACayman

According to their research, SILAC, an insurance business based in Utah, is reportedly among the financial entities attempting to “disengage” from 777 and its insurance division. This move comes after the company’s credit rating was downgraded many times in recent months, raising serious concerns about their financial standing.

777 Partners’ finances are in doubt while the Everton purchase is pending.
The Premier League’s prolonged evaluation of 777 Partners’ fitness for takeover has been partly attributed to the company’s intricate organizational structure.

Therefore, the fact that it has taken close to six months and no conclusion has been made implies that there must be another aspect at play here, albeit it is unclear if it is 777’s or the league’s fault.

However, that still begs the question of why  and his staff haven’t just ended the current impasse by providing a negative response.

Josh Wander and the league authorities are expected to hold in-person talks soon, which, should things proceed, should undoubtedly result in some kind of breakthrough.

However, based on the financial picture presented, it appears that 777 needs the sale to close just as much as Everton needs new ownership, if not more.

In other Everton news, while the wait for a takeover decision persists, alternate bidders are currently lining up.
