Targets and Vols commit are ranked in the updated Top247 for the 2025 class.
According to 247Sports’ most recent Top247 for the 2025 class, two of Tennessee’s commitments and several other players who have received scholarship offers from the Vols are among the top prospects in the country. Numerous prospects who made the list have already visited the Vols and accepted offers from Tennessee, according to 247Sports, which released its most recent update to the Top247 on Wednesday.
The updated Top247 features six players from Tennessee, including George MacIntyre of Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, a quarterback commit to Tennessee. With 16 players in the 2025 class already rated as five-star prospects, 247Sports has upgraded MacIntyre to a five-star prospect. For months, he has been rated as a five-star prospect by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, and he stillOver the past few months, the Vols have played host to an impressive list of prospects for the Class of 2025, and they have not stopped making offers to players who are finishing their junior seasons. Over 400 players in the 2025 class have already received offers from Tennessee, according to the database maintained by 247Sports.

He remains one of Tennessee’s top targets, and he announced a top six Saturday that included Tennessee, along with Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and South Carolina

Since he chose Tennessee over Alabama on January 22 and announced his commitment to the Vols, MacIntyre has emerged as the top recruit in Tennessee’s 2025 class. Between June 2022 and January 20, when he returned to Knoxville just two days before making his announcement, he made at least nine trips to Tennessee. He has been a five-star prospect for months in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, and now that 247Sports has increased its pool of five-star players to sixteen players, he is also rated as a five-star prospect by 247Sports.

On January 24, Lockett accepted an offer from Tennessee; as of right now, he has offers from over thirty universities. The Vols are one of several teams still vying for his visitation in the upcoming months; he has already scheduled official visits to USC and Texas in June.

Petty, who had a fondness for Tennessee growing up, visited the Vols three times in the previous year after receiving an offer from them nearly a year ago. The last time he was at their home game against Georgia was on November 18. Including Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M, he has offers from at least forty universities.
