Another hint that Kirk Cousins might depart the Vikings appears
There’s been more evidence that Kirk Cousins might decide to depart the Minnesota Vikings.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Cousins is anticipated to explore the free agent market when the two-day negotiation window opens on Monday. While Cousins is still in talks with the Vikings, Pelissero stated on Sunday that he is also expected to speak with the Atlanta Falcons and potentially the Denver Broncos.
This is still with the Vikings. According to Pelissero, “if the offer is right, a deal could come together quickly.”
Rumor has it that Cousins would like to play for the Falcons. Cousins’ agent is either doing a fantastic job of pressuring the Vikings to agree to their desired financial parameters, or Cousins has a genuine interest in playing for the NFC South squad (or anywhere else).
Since 2016, Cousins has played on short-term contracts, allowing his contracts to be fully guaranteed. He wants to keep signing deals for money that is completely assured.
The 35-year-old Cousins has been a Vikings player for the last six seasons. He recently recovered from an Achilles tendon tear that kept him out of eight games.
