Lakers Superstar Issues Serious Warning To Rivals Ahead of Playoffs

With back-to-back victories over the Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers are a team full of confidence. So much so that in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, the Lakers “like [their] chances against anybody,” according to nine-time All-Star Anthony Davis.

Playoff opponents receive a stern warning from Anthony Davis

“I believe we’re finding our rhythm at this point,” Davis stated, as reported by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

“Like last year, all we have to do is get in, so we’re just trying to keep moving forward and pushing.” We believe that it will be difficult for anyone to defeat us in a seven-game series. At that point, we fancy our chances against anyone.

A career season for Anthony Davis

Davis is quite entitled to his level of confidence.

With a 55.5 percent shooting percentage, the superstar big is averaging 24.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.2 steals per game in what may be his best season to date. Also, he has participated in all but four games. To put things in perspective, he has only participated in at least 60 games twice in the previous six seasons.

Being dominant on both ends of the court, Davis isn’t acting inconsistently as he usually does. He really does resemble the player who was supposed to represent the league. It follows that his recent historical accomplishments are not shocking.

Davis scored 27 points in the Lakers’ victory over the Timberwolves.a career-high seven steals, three blocks, five assists, and 25 rebounds. In a single game, he became the only player in NBA history to have at least 25 points, 25 rebounds, five assists, five blocks, and three steals.

Of course, the Lakers will require more than just Davis. LeBron James is the head of the snake in Los Angeles, and they will follow him wherever he goes. James is also having a career year up until that time.

James leads the NBA in 3-point percentage at 40.7, and his averages per game are a career-high 25.3 points, 8.0 assists, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.

Resolution for the New Year
Since the beginning of the New Year, the Lakers have been among the best teams in the league. The Lakers have the eighth-best record in that period, 19-13, since January 1.

Los Angeles has the best field goal percentage (51.2), second-best scoring average (120.5 points per game), and third-best assist average among the teams that have won at least half of their games in 2024.(29.7 assists per game) and had fourth-best 3-point percentage (39.5) with the Los Angeles Clippers.

In the last month or so, L.A. has improved much more. The Lakers have a 12-5 record since February 1st, which ties them with the Orlando Magic for the NBA’s fifth-best record.
