5. Duke, March 28 on a Thursday
Who to keep an eye on: Which interior lineman in this draft class is the best? Is it Jackson Powers-Johnson of Oregon? Zach Frazier of West Virginia, what about him? Zak Zinter of Michigan? Graham Barton of Duke might be the one.
In order to identify who might be the first interior lineman selected in Detroit, Michigan, next month, Barton will get the opportunity to test and demonstrate his field work and versatility (having played both LT and C) in front of NFL personnel.
4. Tennessee, March 27, Wed.
Who to watch: In the QB carousel, where will Joe Milton land? His impressive workout at the Combine combined with a strong showing in Knoxville to potentially cement his position as a Day 2 choice with a huge arm and plenty of ability. Over his three seasons at Tennessee, Milton threw 32 touchdowns against five interceptions, but according to Pro Football Focus, he only completed 38.6% of his throws beyond 10 yards in 2023. On his pro day, he has a lot to show teams.
3. Thursday, March 28, in North Carolina
Who to keep an eye on: Caleb Williams is very certain to be the Chicago Bears’ first overall pick, but who will be the team’s second-choice quarterback? Drake Maye of Carolina, will it be? How about Jayden Daniels, the winner of the Heisman Trophy? Is J.J. McCarthy of Michigan going to be mentioned?
In Chapel Hill, Maye has the opportunity to demonstrate his quintessential NFL quarterback abilities in a controlled setting.
2. March 28th, Thursday, in Washington
Who to keep an eye on: Michael Penix Jr., the quarterback, is having a significant day. Is he able to maintain his position as a first-round pick?
Teams, in my opinion, will also be closely monitoring Troy Fautanu’s offensive line workouts. He might be seen as a tackle by certain teams. Others saw him changing on the inside. Is he capable of displaying the kind of adaptability that would make him an NFL front-row Swiss Army Knife?
1. March 27, Wednesday, LSU
The next big thing coming out of LSU’s wide receiver room is Malik Nabers, who is being compared to both Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. This is Nabers’ chance to compare his stats to those of the other pass catchers in a very good and deep receiving class, as he chose not to test at the Combine.
Jayden Daniels, the quarterback, will also be the focus of many eyes.
