The Cincinnati Bengals will want to make it back to the AFC Championship Game (or beyond) in 2024 after an injury-plagued 2023 season.
Joe Burrow, the team’s signal caller, is a top target for the Bengals in NFL Network’s most recent 2024 NFL mock draft, according to Bucky Brooks. In the yearly event held next month, LSU receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is predicted by Brooks to be selected by the Bengals with the 18th overall pick.
“Thomas is a physical playmaker who can prosper playing alongside Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, assuming Higgins and the club can break through their impasse. He stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 209 pounds.
The 2023 Cincinnati Bengals Season Sputtered Away from Injuries
The Cincinnati Bengals, one of the preseason favorites to win Super Bowl 58, looked set to stay right in the middle of things in both the AFC and the NFL as a whole. But Joe Burrow, the team’s standout quarterback, suffered an injury in week eleven that all but terminated the situation. After the Bengals’ week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens caused Burrow to tear a ligament in his right hand (the throwing hand), Jake Browning assumed the team’s lead signal-caller role for the rest of the campaign.
The Bengals would not collapse, though; because to Browning’s unexpectedly strong play in the wake of Burrow’s season-ending injury, Zac Taylor’s team finished the regular season with a respectable 9-8 record and only missed out on the playoffs.
