Dr Rajpal Brar claims that Idrissa Gueye, an Everton midfielder, might not be fit for the March 30 match against Bournemouth.
According to the injury expert, he did not pass a fitness test before the match against Manchester United on March 9.
He has been sidelined since the end of February due to a calf injury, and his status is still unknown.
Brar, a sports scientist and physical therapy specialist, exclusively spoke to Goodison News about Gueye.
He was unable to participate against Manchester United due to a fitness test failure that occurred earlier in March.
If a late fitness test is not passed, it usually indicates that the calf did not respond in a way that the physiotherapists were satisfied with after training.
This could manifest as pain, discomfort, soreness, altered mobility, etc.
Unless there’s word from the club that he’s trained without any problems, he might still not be ready for the weekend.
Gueye’s injury is a major setback to Everton
This season, the 34-year-old has participated in 18 Premier League games and has been a consistent choice for Sean Dyche.
In Gueye’s absence, the Toffees manager has utilized James Garner and Amadou Onana as the double pivots in midfield.
Whether or if he is added back into the starting lineup or given minutes off the bench depends on how well he recovers.
In other Everton news, the team has already contacted two players about joining them during the summer transfer window.
