Sam Gallagher’s contract is expected to be extended by Blackburn by one year due to interest from other parties.

Prior to signing Kieffer Moore on loan from Bournemouth, Ipswich, Birmingham, and Sunderland were all rumored to have shown interest in the 28-year-old in January.

Despite the fact that Gallagher missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, scoring just three goals in 24 league games, TeamTalk reports that Blackburn has exercised the striker’s option to extend his contract by one more year. There are reportedly ongoing discussions concerning the striker’s contract being extended past 2025.
After failing to acquire a forward in January, Sunderland will be trying to sign at least one new striker this summer. The Black Cats must decide whether to loan away players like Hemir Semedo and Eliezer Mayenda for the upcoming campaign after signing four young forwards in the summer.
