TBR Football claims that although Arsenal was interested in signing him in January, the midfielder ultimately chose to sign with Benfica. It is unclear if the Gunners would make a formal offer for the 21-year-old at the end of the season, but they are still anxious to get his signature.
The player has garnered the admiration of Arsenal sporting director Edu, who has been closely monitoring his development. The 21-year-old is well-regarded around Europe and has scored seven goals in his first 14 league games for the Portuguese team.

Leonardo is capable of playing for the top teams in the world soon, and Arsenal will be trying to sign him.
