After speaking with Aston Villa, the demoted midfielder is “holding on” for a Manchester United offer.

The Premier League season for Manchester United has concluded, and in the upcoming weeks, there will be a greater emphasis on the summer transfer window.

At the Amex Stadium, United defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 to round off the season on the South Coast.
With two goals in as many days, Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund gave Erik ten Hag his second triumph.
The focus will now shift to the FA Cup final, which will take place at Wembley next weekend between United and Manchester City.
Ten Hag will be out for retribution after losing the same match the previous season, and he still has a chance to win at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman is still battling for a position at United, where Ineos anticipates making changes in the coming summer.Ross Barkley is awaiting an offer from Manchester United.
Although Ten Hag might stay in his position, supporters anticipate significant additions to come in the transfer market.
Midfield is still a worry for United, and they need fresh faces in a lot of areas.Sofyan Amrabat is unlikely to stay following his loan stint, Mason Mount had an injury-plagued debut season, and Casemiro might move on.

Although few United supporters would have chosen Ross Barkley for a transfer to Old Trafford, United does need to consider midfield prospects.

According to reports from February, Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to sign Barkley as a player for United this summer.

Barkley was drawn to OGC Nice in 2022 by Ratcliffe and Ineos, so there is undoubtedly some appreciation there.

Barkley moved to Luton Town last summer after leaving Nice, where he has scored five goals and provided four assists in 32 Premier League outings.

Barkley is reportedly “holding on” to see if United follows through on their first interest with a formal bid, according to Alan Nixon of The Sun.

Following Luton’s relegation back to the Championship, Barkley is currently drawing interest.

Barkley is rumored to have been approached by Aston Villa regarding a return to Villa Park, but the midfield player isn’t committing to a deal just yet due to the possibility of moving to United.

Barkley appears to be more interested in moving to United, or at the very least, he wants to hear Ratcliffe and Ineos’ opinions on a possible transfer before responding positively to Villa.

It is further stated that Ratcliffe truly considers Barkley to be a “favourite” as the Ineos CEO works to get the midfield player to sign with the team a second time.
According to the most recent source, Barkley will not be under contract until the summer and will be considering offers as a free agency.

United might find that appealing since it would allow them to recruit a homegrown player on a free transfer and strengthen their midfield.

Nevertheless, because Luton has refused to disclose the duration of Barkley’s contract, it has remained a mystery throughout the season.

Although there should be confirmation on that front shortly, Villa appears to be free to leave based on his supposed chat with Barkley.

The 30-year-old Barkley, praised as “unbelievable” by colleague Andros Townsend, has demonstrated that he belongs in the Premier League once more and has successfully put his career back on track at Luton.

Although Barkley might not be a signing that makes United fans’ hearts race, Ratcliffe and Ineos might be persuaded that he can have an influence at Old Trafford; they only need to beat Villa to sign him first.
