I have some suggestions for a rivalry trophy for the A&M vs. Texas game.
The Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies will renew their football rivalry on November 30 when the Horns enter the SEC, and even in May, the excitement is building to a fever pitch. Perhaps more than ever, both teams are keen to win their first meeting of the rivalry’s revival after a 13-year break.
Any college football rivalry worth its salt has a trophy, and this one, which is usually fierce, has the potential to be more significant than it has ever been.
Yes, technically we had one before, but we all know we can do better than this creature, which had no personality at all.
My twisted imagination then set to work creating some possible designs for a new Texas A&M vs. Texas rivalry trophy, keeping that in mind. And I must admit, I believe some of these are worthwhile checking out.
The Smoker in Silver
Since barbecue is inherently Texan, it would be only natural for The Silver Smoker to be owned by the Aggies and Longhorns, with the squad indulging in freshly smoked brisket as part of their postgame festivities.
Terry Price would be pleased.
If you own cattle or are a farmer, you are aware of how important fence is to our state. Therefore, it makes sense that the Platinum Post Hole Digger would be the rivalry prize. During the postgame celebration, bonus points are awarded to the first team to utilize it to dig a hole in the opposing team’s field.
Pastry P.U.F.
We were all shown the possibility of delicious post-game hijinks by the Pop Tarts Bowl. Furthermore, a puff pastry dollar symbol seems entirely suitable, considering that Texas A&M and Texas are the recipients of funds from the state’s Permanent University Fund (PUF). Furthermore, Texas Tech would not be qualified to receive it, just like in real life.
