Michigan has a chance at its first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Championship

Finally, that time of year has returned! It’s the quiet time before college football media days and fall camp, aside from news from the transfer portal and updates on recruiting. You have to think that’s the reason Joel Klatt, in mid-May, picked his favorite Big Ten stadiums with the finest atmosphere:

The Big House qualified, ranking fourth in the league. Even though it’s not often the noisiest or most aggressive atmosphere, Michigan Stadium makes for an excellent game day viewing location.

Michigan has hosted several amazing games in the past few years that people will talk about for years to come. This is merely a place to recall some of those unforgettable games and the amazing atmosphere that accompanied them; it’s not a long list or even a ranking.

Since they occurred, we haven’t stopped watching these, let’s be honest.

Michigan at Ohio State in 2023
The atmosphere of this one was amazing before The Game began. There are signgate allegations, a Big Ten Championship berth at stake, and an opportunity at

the entire College Football Playoff schedule before to kickoff. Following the injury to offensive tackle Zak Zinter, fans yell, “Let’s go, Zak!” as running back Blake Corum scores a touchdown and then gives the camera a six-five. That sounds like a formula for one of college football’s greatest environments.

A sea of corn in the stands and a top-10 matchup at Ann Arbor. After two close quarters, Michigan took control of the game in the second half. Donovan Edwards, the running back, and Blake “the Great” both had outstanding games on the field. In the end, Michigan wins 41–17, handily defeating the Wolverines.

Michigan at Ohio State in 2021
If Michigan can simply overcome the setback and defeat the Buckeyes, it might make its first-ever trip to the Big Ten Championship Game. There’s snow falling. In Ann Arbor, Michigan wins their first game against Ohio State in ten years in November.

Michigan at Washington in 2021
This one generated a lot of enthusiasm before the season began. The previous week, Washington had lost to Montana, but the supporters were still enthusiastic when they arrived at Michigan Stadium under the lights. Michigan at Washington in 2021

Even if you may not enjoy the late kickoffs, there’s no denying that they generate an amazing atmosphere for the first big game after COVID-19..
