Following Mauricio Pochettino departure from Chelsea on Tuesday, Chelsea is currently looking for a new manager.
Following Mauricio Pochettino’s Tuesday agreement to part company with the Stamford Bridge team, Chelsea is now looking for a new permanent manager.
The now-former Blues manager spoke with co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali, sports directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, and other club officials on several occasions, according to London World’s report. It was decided that Pochettino should move on, and the former Tottenham Hotspur manager requested a longer contract to demonstrate the club’s commitment to a long-term project, along with more control over transfers.
Regarding the decision, sporting directors Stewart and Winstanley stated: “We would like to thank Mauricio for his service this season on behalf of everyone at Chelsea.” We wish him the best of luck in his future coaching career and will always welcome him back to Stamford Bridge.
“I am grateful for the chance to be a part of this football club’s history,” Pochettino continued, expressing his gratitude to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors. The Club is currently in a strong position to continue growing in the upcoming years in both the Premier League and Europe.
It was expected that Pochettino would be given more time at Stamford Bridge to continue developing with a young team following a solid campaign finale. The Blues will, at the absolute least, be guaranteed a position in the Europa Conference League after finishing sixth in the standings. If Manchester City wins this weekend’s FA Cup final against Manchester United, they’ll be guaranteed a position in the Europa League.
Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town and a native of Fermanagh, is one of the first names being connected to the open post at Stamford Bridge. McKenna led the Tractor Boys from League One to the Premier League during the last two seasons. His tenure at the club began only in December 2021. During his two complete seasons, he has been promoted with the club.
After accepting the LMA Manager of the Year Award on Tuesday, McKenna was questioned about any ties to Chelsea. She responded, “The club [Ipswich] has had an incredible two years and when you have those two years there is always speculation.” I am aware of how eagerly everyone is anticipating the upcoming season.
There will always be conjecture when a player or management does well. There will always be conjecture when something as great as what we have is accomplishe, That is not my main concern. We have had an amazing couple of years, and I know that everyone is eager for the upcoming season, Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim and Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca are also early names linked.
Numerous additional names, such as Vincent Kompany of Burnley, Sebastian Hoeness of Stuttgart, Roberto De Zerbi, the former manager of Brighton,
However, Sky Sports in Germany via Florian Plettenberg have reported that Chelsea have held ‘loose’ talks with former manager Thomas Tuchel. The German won the Champions League with Chelsea in Porto and is said to see a return to Stamford Bridge as a ‘concrete option’ after leaving Bayern Munich. He announced he would be leaving the Bundesliga club earlier this year but despite attempts to keep him, he has now left Bayern following their third-place finish in the German top flight. Pochettino himself may not be out of management long with the Evening Standard reporting he is now on the radars of Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Erik ten Hag is still in charge at Old Trafford but his position has come under increasing scrutiny There are rumors that the Dutchman’s employment may not be secure even if he wins the FA Cup this weekend.
