When asked about his finest manager to date, Manchester United great Wayne Rooney didn’t even hesitate to name a couple.

Recently, Wayne Rooney has been a media fixture, appearing as a pundit on TNT Sports, BBC, and Sky Sports, among other stations.

In addition, he recently hosted the Stick to Football podcast. However, he has since moved on to coach Plymouth Argyle in the football league.

But before he does that, he just appeared on The Overlap to be questioned by Gary Neville and will be providing punditry for the Euros this summer.

The question of who is the best manager he has ever had at Manchester United was one of the topics he was questioned about.

During her appearance on The Overlap with Neville, Rooney fielded 53 rapid-fire questions, a few of which produced some amazing anecdotes.

But one question stands out as very intriguing: Rooney was asked who his best manager has been during his playing career.

Rooney answered Neville’s question, “Best manager you’ve ever played under,” with hardly any hesitation.

The renowned United forward replied, “Alex Ferguson.”

“I believe… It’s strange because you look back at different managers and the different things they do when you leave playing, and I remember thinking things like, “Why is he not coaching all the time?” and things of that sort, and you see the trust he had with his other coaches.

We clearly had some falling out, but that’s part of sport; we all want the best, and he was undoubtedly the best. His man-management with everyone was amazing.
