The Toffees have sent out a letter of solidarity on the hospitalization of former Everton and Arsenal legend Kevin Campbell.
Former Everton player Campbell was hospitalized; the Toffees offered their support.
Social media is full of messages of goodwill.
WHAT HAPPENED?
It was reported that Campbell became unwell and was brought to the hospital. Everton has now acknowledged that the striker is’very sick’ and sent out a message of sympathy for him.
WHAT EVERTON SAID
“We have been made aware that our former striker Kevin Campbell is currently very unwell,” Everton said in a statement released on X.
Not only is Kevin an amazing football player, but he’s also a fighter, and we hope the best for him and his family during this trying time.
“Sending all our love, Kevin Campbell.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
From 1999 to 2005, Campbell was a player for the Toffees, rising to the position of captain for the Merseyside team. He played 160 appearances for the team, scoring 50 goals and dishing out 13 assists, the most of which kept Everton in the Premier League and kept them from relegation.
SUPPORT FOR CAMPBELL
Upon the disclosure of the renowned striker’s poor health, fans, clubs, and players have all shown their support and hope for a full recovery.
Ray Parlour, a former teammate of Campbell’s at Arsenal, wrote on X, saying: “I hear my ex-team-mate Kevin Campbell is struggling at the moment.” Kev, you have the entire football family cheering you on. I’m aware of your strength of character, buddy.
“Remain upbeat. Everyone is undoubtedly working to support you. I hope you quickly recover, buddy, and return to your normal flying self.”
Trevor Sinclair, a former England player, posted: “Kevin Campbell is receiving prayers, love, and light.” incredibly beautiful person.”
