Sean Dyche and Everton are now chasing a deal for a new winger in an attempt to boost his club on a shoestring.

Since Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma have both returned to their former teams, Everton boss Dyche’s whole team now consists of just two acknowledged wide players.

It’s a precarious position, and even if the team needs to be assembled during the protracted summer, the required funds could not be available.

Regardless of whether they choose to sell players like Amadu Onana in order to raise money, Everton will need to be resourceful in the transfer market.

Having stated that, TBR Football is aware that Everton is currently interested in signing Bobby De Cordova-Reid, a winger for Fulham.

Manager Marco Silva is desperate for the 31-year-old Jamaican international to stay at Craven Cottage, where his contract expires at the end of this month. The player and the club have been in talks in recent weeks.

But according to sources close to TBR, Dyche is prepared to extend a long-term contract to Cordova-Reid at Everton, which would assist address their shortage of wing alternatives.

Everton willing to hand Bobby De Cordova-Reid a long-term contract

This season, Cordova-Reid made 41 appearances for Fulham in all competitions and netted six goals in the Premier League.

Of course, in August, at Goodison Park, one of those goals sealed a 1-0 victory for Fulham over Dyche’s club.

In addition to Everton’s interest, Cordova-Reid—who was called “outstanding” by a previous manager—has admirers elsewhere, including MLS clubs. However, it appears that the winger will stay in England this summer.

In recent weeks, Everton has been considering moves for a number of free agents, including Daichi Kamada of Lazio, who is said to have shown a lot of interest in joining Cordova-Reid.

Next season, Abdoulaye Doucoure might play a bigger part, which would present a chance for a new acquisition to start at number ten.

Everton will now have to go elsewhere as Kamada has decided to join Oliver Glasner, his former manager at Eintracht Frankfurt, at Crystal Palace.

Given that teams like Arsenal and Newcastle United have already expressed interest in signing Amadou Onana, it continues to seem like the most likely sell for Everton.

Such a trade would alleviate the club’s PSR woes, but even so, it would be shocking if Everton accepted offers for Jarrad Branthwaite, who has grown to be so important to Dyche’s development.
