Report: Newcastle United are now interested in signing another Fulham player after Tosin Adarabioyo snub

Tosin Adarabioyo will not be joining Newcastle United this summer, but they may have their sights set on another Fulham youngster.

The 26-year-old’s Fulham contract is about to expire, thus he will be departing Craven Cottage shortly. Newcastle did make Tosin an offer, but he chose to take his skills to Chelsea instead.

Chelsea is providing the centre defender a longer deal and the opportunity to play in Europe, so Newcastle has lost out on a PSR-busting transfer.

The Magpies will have to find another place to conduct business, which has led to them being connected to another Fulham player.

Newcastle United linked with Andreas Pereira

Tosin Adarabioyo is leaving Fulham this summer, and he could be followed out the door by Andreas Pereira.

Globo, a Brazilian publication, asserts that the 28-year-old is unlikely to play at Craven Cottage in the upcoming campaign.

They say that three Premier League teams, including Newcastle United, have shown interest in signing Pereira. The other two are Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, with the former getting ready for next season’s Champions League play.

Pereira wants that as well, and a transfer elsewhere is currently in the works. Globo claims that Fulham wants to pay between £30 million and £35 million for him, so he won’t come cheap.

Pereira to Newcastle feels unlikely right now

These numbers make a transfer to Newcastle United implausible, mostly because Pereira occupies a position that the Magpies aren’t currently trying to bolster.

The Brazil international plays as an attacking midfielder behind the striker or as a center-midfielder. Newcastle now has a strong midfield, especially with Sandro Tonali set to return from suspension in August.

A deal for someone like Pereira would only make sense if Newcastle lost a midfield player, and Bruno Guimaraes is the most likely to go.

Pereira is currently with Newcastle United’s talisman

Manchester City is reportedly interested in the 26-year-old due to his £100 million release clause. The Magpies are certain they will keep Bruno, but if his release clause is triggered, they have no control.

It’s interesting to note that Bruno is currently with the most recent player that has been connected to a move to St James’ Park. While Brazil gets ready to compete at the Copa America, Bruno and Pereira are abroad on foreign service together.

Bruno and Pereira were even seen together at Universal Studios in Florida, indicating that they have been spending some downtime together. I wonder whether Bruno was informing him about the number of Greggs in Newcastle.
