Due to his high demand, the Welshman may depart from his present club this summer.
Chris Mepham, a Wales international, is reportedly available for £8 million, but Celtic are keen in acquiring him.
The 26-year-old Wales international has been in and out of Bournemouth’s first squad and, like his countryman Kieffer Moore, may be considering leaving in quest of consistent playing time.
It comes after the center-back nearly moved during the January transfer window after being turned down by Sheffield United and Leeds United when they tried to entice him to Yorkshire.
Since making his debut for Wales in 2018, Mepham has been a constant at the center of the defense, and he currently believes he is at the top of his game. He might be exploring alternative possibilities after making just 10 Premier League appearances in the previous season, four of which came off the bench.
Speaking last season, he stated: “At 26, I am definitely nearing the end of my football career. For me, the upcoming years are crucial.
It’s critical to play every single week. You must consider all of your options if you are not receiving the necessary and desired amount of playing time.
“I just think sometimes things don’t always work out as you want and sometimes there’s a better fit for you elsewhere.”
On June 14, English and Scottish clubs can begin making transfers.
