Villa suggested raising the permissible loss ceiling to £135 million for the 2024-25 season, but top-flight teams rejected the proposal in a vote this week.
Top-flight clubs voted against Villa’s idea this week, and the Premier League will instead introduce a new league-wide structure.
The Premier League will use the 2024-25 season as a test for new squad cost control procedures that will limit spending to 85 percent of a club’s total revenue.
