Leicester City next manager update emerges as Foxes ‘pushing hard’ for ‘top target’

Latest Leicester City news from Leicestershire. Live as City’s search for a replacement to Enzo Maresca continues.

Leicester City has reportedly met with Graham Potter’s agent as their search for a new manager continues.

Several individuals have been linked to the empty position at the King Power Stadium after Enzo Maresca’s resignation. TalkSPORT reports that City are exploring a ‘audacious bid’ for Potter, but there may be a stumbling block.

The club is claimed to have met with Potter’s long-time representative, John Morris. The source suggests that City may not have “the necessary funds” to sign the 49-year-old this summer.

Potter has been without a job since Chelsea fired him in April 2023, just seven months after joining from Brighton and Hove Albion. He is thought to be a candidate for the Manchester United job if Erik ten Hag leaves.

City are thought to have met with former Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper. Meanwhile, two new contenders have surfaced as possible alternatives for Maresca.

City have reportedly reached out to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who left Manchester United in late 2021 after three years.

The second new name is Davide Ancelotti, Carlo Ancelotti’s son and right-hand man at Real Madrid. Ancelotti junior’s reputation has risen in recent years as a result of the tactical work he has done behind the scenes and on the pitch alongside his father.

According to Revelo, City and Reims have approached Real Madrid regarding Davide Ancelotti’s availability, recognising his expertise. However, according to reports, they have been turned down, with the 34-year-old eager to spend another year with the Champions League winners.
