Tottenham now tempted to bid as club make ‘one of the best strikers in the world’ available for £28m

Spurs are now enticed to make a bid after learning that a transfer target is now available for £28 million.

Spurs are no strangers to a deal in the transfer market, having previously acquired players such as Guglielmo Vicario for just £17 million and Heung-min Son for just £22 million.
Tottenham is now drawn to the opportunity to recruit a striker who is listed for £28 million.

Tottenham find Tammy Abraham opportunity appealing

According to TBR Football, Tammy Abraham is now available for £28 million this summer from Roma.

The England international battled back from a major cruciate ligament injury to have a nightmare 2023–24 season with only 12 appearances in all competitions.

Roma has now made the decision to start looking for buyers as Abraham approaches the last 24 months of his contract.

According to sources that spoke to TBR Football, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and West Ham are also keeping an eye on the Roma No. 9’s position because, like Spurs, they believe he is a great value at £28 million.

So far this summer, Tottenham’s top striker target has been Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, a Mexico international. However, with the £28 million price tag revealed, interest may now shift to Abraham, who Roma No. 7 Lorenzo Pellegrini called “one of the best attackers in the world.”

Spurs must do their homework

Tottenham is naturally tempted by the opportunity to recruit an England international for merely £28 million at the age of 26, but they need to investigate Roma’s reasoning for taking this stance.

In the event that Abraham experiences recurrent episodes of his severe injury, this trade, at whatever cost, would turn out to be a nightmare for Spurs.

Last season, Ange Postecoglou was unlucky not to have some of his key players available at critical times, as Richarlison, James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, and Micky van de Ven all missed significant portions of the season.

Due to injuries last season, even Oliver Skipp, a natural center midfielder, had to be taught to play on the left side of defense.

Thus, Tottenham might have to go elsewhere for a striker in 2025 if they buy Abraham, a player who might not always be available.
