Sammie Szmodics, the goal machine for Blackburn, responded to Everton’s announcement that Seamus Coleman has extended his stay at Goodison Park with a message.
On Friday, June 14, the Toffees revealed on Instagram that the right-back, who will play his 16th season at Goodison Park, had inked a one-year contract extension.
Szmodics posted two emoji comments in response to a video of Coleman speaking to Everton supporters, expressing his agreement with the move.
Prior to today (April 28), Alan Nixon revealed on his Patreon that the Toffees are interested in Szmodics, who is valued by Blackburn Rovers at between £15 and £20 million.
Everton fans will be thrilled to hear Sammie Szmodics’ message.
There is no doubt that this has excited the fans at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have been pursuing Szmodics for a while, and he would be a thrilling addition to the team.
The 28-year-old proved he deserves a chance to play in the Premier League last season, finishing as the best scorer in the Championship.
Coleman’s contract extension may also play a significant role in Dyche’s efforts to entice the striker to Goodison Park.
The Republic of Ireland international is a huge fan of Coleman and may be excited about the chance to play in the Premier League with such a legendary Irishman.
It remains to be seen if Everton can afford him.
Szmodics, though, will be the target of many teams, and the Toffees will be eager to take advantage of any advantage they can.
