Report: Tottenham are worried they won’t be able to sign Postecoglou the £50m player he’s personally requested

Tottenham Hotspur are concerned that Ange Postecoglou may be disappointed this summer as speculation about one of their transfer targets grows.

Although the window is again open for business, this summer’s Euros may have put an end to any early arrivals at Tottenham.

The Lilywhites have acquired Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig for another season, but no permanent deals have been made yet.

After his first season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Ange Postecoglou will focus on making improvements.

However, there are growing concerns around the club that they will face a significant challenge in convincing one of Postecoglou’s top targets to join this summer.

Tottenham remain keen to sign Conor Gallagher this summer

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is rumoured to be interested in joining Tottenham this summer.

Spurs may need to replace midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg later in the year, as the Danish international is already attracting interest from rival clubs.

Postecoglou admires England international Gallagher, who is now with Gareth Southgate’s team.

Spurs are afraid that Gallagher will not leave Stamford Bridge this summer, as reported by the Evening Standard.

The 24-year-old is still in contract uncertainty at his hometown club, with the Blues rumoured to be eager to move him on to balance the books with only one year remaining on his contract.

However, Gallagher is now thought to be hoping to impress his present club with a good Euros campaign with the Three Lions.

Tottenham must move on if Conor Gallagher refuses

Spurs may need to spend around £50 million on Gallagher if they sign him this summer.

Tottenham aims to improve this position after bringing in Lucas Bergvall.

With Gallagher eager to stay in west London, any deal for him appears to be postponed until the summer.

Postecoglou has previously stated that he only wants to sign players who are absolutely committed to playing for Spurs and give them their all.

If Gallagher is not interested in providing Spurs with that, then may be time for Postecoglou and his team to go elsewhere.
