Fabrizio Romano reports that Everton has “completed” the signing of Tim Iroegbunam, a midfielder for Aston Villa.
The 20-year-old midfield player is set to join the Toffees for £9 million, according to a transfer expert’s post on X (20 June).
To finalize his deal, the youthful midfield player will now go through his medical in the following days.
Romano states that the Toffees would attempt to finalize a loan agreement for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison following the acquisition of Iroegbunam.
According to a June 19 article by Nancy Froston of The Athletic, the 27-year-old winger is almost certain to move to Goodison Park. Leeds will want Everton to pay Harrison his entire salary rather than charging him a loan fee. Everton is attempting to close two transactions.
Iroegbunam joined Villa in 2022 after advancing through the West Brom system. He played 32 games and scored twice while on loan at Queens Park Rangers during the 2022–2023 season.
His entry might make it possible for Amadou Onana to leave in the summer. Despite not having received any proposals as of yet, the Toffees are expected to sell the Belgian international this month in order to meet Premier League financial regulations.
The England Under-20 international is eager to play frequently, and he should have that opportunity at Goodison Park come season’s end. Villa is content to let the young midfielder go this summer and is hoping to add Ross Barkley and Connor Gallagher.
