Everton takeover FINALLY nears its end as troubled Toffees confirm Roma investor Dan Friedkin has been granted exclusivity to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s majority shares

Everton has now indicated that they have given exclusivity to a group fronted by AS Roma’s £4.9 billion owner Dan Friedkin, signaling the conclusion of their protracted acquisition dispute.

After his family ventured into aviation and racing cars, the Texan billionaire inherited his money. Friedkin’s film studio created Killers of the Flower Moon, which is nominated for an Oscar, and he also earned a stunt award for landing a Spitfire on a beach in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.

According to Forbes, the 495th richest man in the world will now continue his efforts to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% majority interest in the struggling Goodison Park club.

Mail Sport is aware that the exclusive arrangement only lasts for about a month, but this is not a problem because it can be easily extended.

To dissuade British-Iranian businessman Moshiri from early front-runners Andy Bell and George Downing—who had funded Everton £158 million—Friedkin made an all-equity offer. It follows a drawn-out legal battle with contentious Miami-based firm 777 Partners.

It is understood that the group, which includes son Ryan, who is anticipated to play a significant and active role, will now conduct their own due diligence on the team, and passing the owners and directors test (OADT) of the Premier League should be a routine.

Fans are happy with Friedkin’s management of Roma, an Italian sleeping giant that won its first European trophy in the Conference League in 2022 and advanced to the Europa League final the following season. Friedkin purchased the team for approximately £550 million in 2020.

Additionally, they lured Jose Mourinho to the team by signing players like Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, with the latter taking the lead as the striker’s pilot to the Italian city. The group also started talking about Roma moving out of the storied Stadio Olimpico.

Even more importantly for Everton, he has made Roma’s finances stable. The club released the following statement on Thursday: “To conclude this process, all parties will now work together.” The club will keep running normally in the interim.
