Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur facing possible ban as FA ‘investigate’ Son comment

After receiving a ton of backlash for his poorly thought out comment, Bentancur—a former midfield player for Juventus—quickly apologized to Son on Instagram, stating that he never intended to hurt his captain.

Son and Spurs did not respond.

Bentancur ‘could miss start of next season

Football.london reports that the FA is currently investigating Bentancur’s comment, but they haven’t decided whether to file charges against the 26-year-old for breaking any of their rules.

Bentancur, however, might face a fine or an indefinite suspension if the governing body decides to charge him, which might prevent him from playing for Tottenham at the beginning of the 2024–25 season.
