Fabrizio Romano – Yankuba Minteh informs Newcastle United of Everton transfer decision

Fabrizio Romano claims that Yankuba Minteh, a winger for Newcastle United, has made Everton his “favorite destination” for the summer.

On June 24, the Italian writer provided an update on X, stating that Minteh had communicated to Newcastle that he would rather finalize a deal to Goodison Park than to Ligue 1 team Lyon.  Minteh has not yet played for the Magpies’ first team, but he did enjoy a fantastic loan season at Feyenoord last year, where he scored 10 goals in 27 Eredivisie games.

Though a summer transfer seems likely, Minteh still seems focused on breaking through in the Premier League and is willing to pass on Lyon in favor of joining the Toffees. The signing of Yankuba Minteh would provide Everton with uncommon wide options. Minteh, who scored more goals last season than all of the Toffees players combined, may be a game-changer for Sean Dyche’s team when he arrives at Goodison Park. Minteh offers a fresh perspective, and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin rumored to be close to leaving for Newcastle, Dyche may need to make some significant adjustments up front. With Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma returning from loan, Dwight McNeil is still the only true wide player for the team. Minteh provides a another dimension to this Toffees team that was previously absent.

Harrison is expected to return to Goodison Park to rejoin Minteh in the lineup, and since Dyche has previously managed a team lacking in offensive talent, it seems he will have a variety of offensive alternatives available to him in the upcoming campaign [Fabrizio Romano]. Given Everton’s recent financial struggles, Minteh’s approval of the club is a big vote of confidence for the Blues, and it is now up to them to complete this transfer [Gianluca Di Marzio].

In other Everton news, a player described as “fearless” who has been connected to the Toffees is currently looking for a home in Liverpool.
