Figure made public of how much cash Newcastle United need to bring in by 30 June for PSR requirements

For Newcastle United and several other clubs, the clock is running out on PSR and the June 30, 2024, deadline.

That will be the start of the Premier League clubs’ most recent three-year accounting cycle, during which they are permitted to lose up to £105 million, though not all of their expenses are taken into account for PSR calculations.

Going back eighteen days, this Sky Sports report listed these six Premier League clubs as needing to generate money in order to comply with PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) – June 6, 2024:

In order to abide by the division’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), up to six Premier League clubs may need to sell players before the end of June.

On that date, clubs must demonstrate that they have lost no more than £105 million in the previous three years, or less if they have spent part of that period outside the top flight. This is the deadline for the financial year in the top division.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Leicester are all facing the prospect of losing one or more important players before the start of the new fiscal year.

The majority of Newcastle United supporters, in my opinion, now acknowledge that this is the reality and that NUFC must raise some money by June 30, 2024, at the latest, in order to satisfy PSR for these final financial seasons.

But how much precisely needs to be

On Monday morning, the typically dependable Athletic provided an intriguing update.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle United will need to spend just £25 million to move up the PSR ladder.

According to what they say, Yankuba Minteh steps in at this point.

There has been a great deal of strong media speculation that the 19-year-old may have been sold to help guarantee PSR compliance.

According to The Athletic, Minteh may be on his way out because Eddie Howe and Newcastle United clearly have no intention of parting with important players like Bruno and Isak.

The team thinks the teenager has what it takes to maybe play in the Premier League for a longer period of time. But, the possibilities of selling elder NUFC squad players this week who could/would sell before the end of August when the move happens are slim due to the market’s failure to fully warm up and the ongoing Copa America and Euros.

Without a sure, everything that Newcastle United needs to accomplish this week in order to be PSR compliant will be made clear this week, or at least as much as we are likely to learn.
