The 18-year-old midfielder is a rising talent who is valued at approximately £3.4 million.
Rising Hacken star Pontus Dahbo, 18, is reportedly being watched by several elite European players and is on Celtic’s wanted list.
The midfield player, who signed a new contract that runs until 2025, is estimated to be worth £3.4 million. He is a fixture in the Swedish national team’s youth lineup. Having watched players like Ibrahim Sadiq and Benie Traore depart for large sums of money, Dahbo is poised to be Hacken’s next major acquisition. Celtic has a track record of scouting in Scandinavia, and Dahbo is thought to be the country’s second-best young player, after Lucas Bergvall, who is headed to Tottenham.
Although manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly looking for experienced players this summer, Celtic has always watched up-and-coming players, which has paid off on numerous times over the previous fifteen years. Talents that have been sold for large sums of money include Jeremie Frimpong, Victor Wanyama, Virgil van Dijk, and Moussa Dembele. And now, FD claims, Dahbo, who is supposedly content at Hacken, might be the next target. The adaptable midfield player can play a variety of positions for a side that has developed into a legitimate challenger in Sweden in recent years. John Kennedy disclosed that efforts are underway to add fresh players to the Celtic team as they resume training. The assistant manager said: “There’s a lot of conversations happening. It’s a time when a lot of players have been on holiday and different things have been happening. We come back for pre-season and hopefully in the coming weeks a few things will start to happen but there’s a lot of plates spinning and a lot of work getting done. Hopefully, we’ll start to see that materialise over the coming weeks.”
