This is very impressive on Newcastle United contracts. Something that has been largely ignored, in my opinion. I had a look at what the current position is. Down below is an update on how the club stands with the Newcastle United contracts, now just seven weeks ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season kicking off.

How the Newcastle United contracts situation currently looks – 28 June 2024:

Lloyd Kelly As I said at the start, this has all been largely ignored. Both by the media and Newcastle United fans. To get the Newcastle United contracts situation into such a healthy position, is outstanding work. During this most recent (2023/24) season, both Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton were persuaded to sign big new contracts. I hesitate to say it, but… they are almost like new signings! That is, in terms of how much better a position it puts the club in with both of them.

Our Brazilian youngsters, who are now contracted till the end of January 2028, truly were game changers.

Bruno would only have two years left on his contract and Joelinton would only have one year remaining if those new agreements hadn’t been made.

Take a minute to consider how uncomfortable we would all be sitting right now!

When Newcastle United supporters hear the endless, media-fabricated fantasy transfer stories this summer, I find it comical how ridiculous some of them get. They are anxious to express how devastated they are about the impending sales of NUFC’s greatest players. sales that are simply unattainable.

The contracts of every important player for Newcastle United are still active for at least three, and sometimes four, years.

On the other hand, the elite NUFC players—Trippier, Schar, Wilson, and Burn—who have only one year left on their Newcastle United contracts are all in their 30s.

If Eddie Howe wants them to add another year, so that there are two years left, I’m sure people like Schar and Burn will be more than willing to sign up. The same applies to Wilson and Trippier if they continue rather than leaving this summer.

Nick Pope, whose contract now has two years left, will, in my opinion, sooner rather than later have it extended. While Longstaff, Anderson, and Almiron are all rumored to be departing this summer, if they decide to stay, I can definitely see the two Geordies receiving a contract extension soon. Given that Miggy Almiron is currently in his 30s and has two years left on his deal, if he continues, I’d assume the club is content with him.

Overall, a very strong position for Newcastle United contracts; this has been worked on, and we are grateful to all who have made it possible.

*Yankuba Minteh signed a “long-term” contract with Newcastle United in the summer of 2023, but the media only reported that.

(**Lewis Hall instigated a permanent relocation during the 2023–2024 season; we are awaiting the formal announcement of his contract.)

(***Alex Murphy’s new “long-term” contract with Newcastle United was merely announced, although the media is claiming that the 19-year-old has signed a four-year contract.)
