Celtic is still looking for a goalkeeper, and they might need to add more than one to accommodate any summer roster changes.

A new number one should step forward to fill the vacuum left by Joe Hart’s departure; in the meantime, Benjamin Siegrist has made hints that he may quit Parkhead.

Celtic has been connected to a lot of interesting alternatives on the market. According to rumors, Peter Vindahl Jensen of Sparta Prague and veteran Martin Dubravka of Newcastle United appear to be among the front-runners.

As supporters wait for the chips to fall on the recruitment front, a roster of goalkeepers as long as your arm has also been floated as possible options. It makes for interesting reading.

An experienced last line of defenseman who was reportedly under Celtic’s consideration during the January transfer window is now free to sign with any team.

Vaclav Hladky’s past connections to Celtic
There’s a desire to cover every Celtic angle possible here at 67 Hail Hail, therefore we never miss a beat when it comes to transfer rumors.

Although the connection never fully materialized, reports from Czech news outlet iSport at the beginning of the year suggested that the Hoops were considering signing Vaclav Hladky, who was then with Ipswich Town, as a goalkeeper.

The 33-year-old, who played a significant role for the Tractor Boys, left Portman Road on a free contract after turning down the opportunity to stay longer at the Premier League’s newcomers [BBC Sport].

Ipswich honored the Brno native with a social media post on X that said, “Vas, thank you for everything.” Best wishes for the future. Hladky might be a good choice for Celtic’s goalkeeper.
Hladky participated in every game in Ipswich’s triumphant Sky Bet Championship promotion campaign, according to Transfermarkt. In 47 appearances across all competitions, he kept 15 clean sheets.

With a save percentage of 66.7% from 165 shots on goal faced in the English second division, the former international for Czechia Under-20 was a formidable presence in goal at Portman Road last season [FBRef].

Hladky may not be the most visually appealing player available, but he has Scottish Premiership experience, having spent the 2019–20 season with St Mirren.

Depending on Brendan Rodgers’ transfer decisions, there’s little doubt that he could fill in as a capable backup or even as a “cup goalkeeper” if not for his first-choice role.
