The £35 million striker that Spurs are reportedly in continuous talks with the player’s camp and club are Ange Postecoglou’s particular targets for the team this summer.

Spurs expected to sign new striker and winger for Postecoglo

Daniel Levy is likely to make a number of attacking additions in addition to Timo Werner, who has extended his loan from RB Leipzig until the end of the next season, early in the summer.

According to sources, the recruiting team, led by technical director Johan Lange, is reportedly looking for a new striker and winger to replace club record goalscorer Harry Kane, who left for Bayern Munich last summer.

Nico Williams, who played brilliantly for Spain at Euro 2024 and tallied 19 assists for Athletic Bilbao in all competitions last season, is reportedly of interest to Tottenham. In addition to Williams, Lange is assembling a shortlist of out-wide candidates for Spurs, which includes Pedro Neto of Wolves and Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace.

Tottenham’s best-performing players last season Average match rating per 90 (WhoScored)
Son Heung-min 7.30
James Maddison 7.17
Pedro Porro 7.04
Cristian Romero 7.03
Dejan Kulusevski 6.96
Tottenham, meantime, is looking for a dynamic new number nine who can lead their club ahead in the upcoming campaign. Postecoglou wants to turn the Lilywhites into a premier English team after they showed promise in the previous year.

Thus far, Levy has approved contracts for Werner and £40 million arrival from Elland Road, former Leeds United star Archie Gray. Spurs are also anticipated to sell offensive players like Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon, which might make room for prospective attacker signings.

Desire Doue, a highly-rated attacker from Rennes, is one player Tottenham is keeping an eye on. He may move to the Premier League and follow in the footsteps of Man City’s Jeremy Doku.

The 19-year-old, who made 43 appearances for the Ligue 1 team in all competitions last season, finished with four goals and six assists. Baptiste Santamaria, Doue’s teammate, has previously called the adolescent “unplayable”.

“He’s a player who aspires to go to the biggest clubs,” said Santamaria. “He’s one of a kind. He likes to hit the ball but he’s solid on his feet. Desire’s technical, percussive and physical qualities are quite incredible. When he becomes more consistent, he’ll be unplayable. For his age, he’s the most gifted youngster I’ve seen in my career.”

Postecoglou really wants Doue with Tottenham in ongoing talks

The Sun claims that Postecoglou is “especially big” about getting Doue to sign for Tottenham, and that the North Londoners are now in talks with both Rennes and the player’s camp.

However, they have fierce competition from Chelsea, a rival team in London that is in a similar circumstance; it seems that the English city is calling for Doue’s services more and more.

According to some rumors, Rennes may allow him to depart for about £35 million, which would be a huge coup considering how well-regarded he already is.
