Everton face Salford City but Jarrad Branthwaite is not involved.
Jarrad Branthwaite is absent for Everton’s pre-season clash against Salford City today. The centre-back misses the Toffees’ second friendly of the summer, having not been involved in last week’s 3-3 draw against Sligo Rovers in the west of Ireland.
Branthwaite has been heavily targeted by Manchester United in the summer transfer window after a splendid 2023-24 season. However, Everton have turned down two bids and remained steadfast the defender will not leave unless the club’s valuation is met
Due to an injury he sustained during the preseason, Branthwaite was forced to miss the games against Sligo and today’s League Two match at Peninsula Stadium versus Salford.
During the Ireland training camp, the 22-year-old revealed to evertontv, “It’s just a little injury I’ve had.” It won’t be a big deal because I’ll be rejoining the team within the next week. I am eager to resume my activities.”
Branthwaite is one of Everton’s seven absences. In addition to not playing against Sligo, James Tarkowski, Nathan Patterson, and Vitalli Mykolenko are still unavailable. Iliman Ndiaye, a summer signing, is not participating, but, and It seems sense that Jesper Lindstrom, who signed a loan from Napoli yesterday, has not been included. Jordan Pickford, who assisted England in making it to the 2024 Euro final, is yet to report back for duty.
