Jake O’Brien has become Everton’s fifth signing of the summer.

The Republic of Ireland international joined the Goodison Park roster after Tim Iroegbunam, Jack Harrison, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jesper Lindstrom.

Following a routine physical earlier this week on Merseyside, O’Brien leaves Lyon, where he played the previous season, on a £17 million agreement.

Longtime admirers of the right-footed center back’s skills, Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell, have had the Blues on their radar for a while.

“I’m a ball-playing center half, quick, like to attack in both boxes, and I like to add some excitement,” he declared.

“You see Jarrad [Branthwaite’s] development as well as Sean Dyche’s work with young center halves.”

It goes without saying that I watch him and want to emulate the way he is now performing and the season he has had in the Premier League.

“My goal for this season is to play as many games as I can and help the team move up the standings.” We should try to finish the season—the final season at Goodison Park—as high on the priority list as possible because it’s an exciting moment.

The new stadium, which has a fantastic appearance, comes next. In addition, we’re building a team for the future and can keep going.

Although Manchester United is still interested in the England defender, O’Brien’s acquisition is not anticipated to allow Jarrad Branthwaite to go.
