On July 22nd, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported Everton and Leicester City would have no problem matching Arthur Melo’s Juventus salary of €4m per year, which can rise to €9m with bonuses. Last season, the 27-year-old was on loan at Fiorentina, who decided against making his stay permanent. He returned to the Turin club but his future is likely to be away from them. Juve technical director Cristiano Giuntoli is working on getting rid of players who aren’t part of Motta’s plans. Tuttosport say Arthur is included in this list, and Everton and Leicester are mentioned as interested parties.
The former Barcelona player performed significantly better at Fiorentina last season after spending 2022–2023 on loan, but they are unable to pay his salaries on a permanent basis.
The Brazilian allegedly has “ongoing discussions” to see whether he may rejoin the Premier League during this transfer window with Everton and the Foxes. Whether the discussions are about a loan or a permanent move is not made clear.
In the upcoming weeks, Juventus wants to let Arthur go, and Everton and Leicester are being offered the chance to sign him.
