The potential transfer to take Marc Guehi to Newcastle United is becoming a saga.
Newcastle has already had four bids for the Crystal Palace defender rejected, despite rumors that the team is confident in closing a deal to acquire the player.
Palace is pursuing “superstar money” for a “generational” talent, as chairman Steve Parish has admitted.
It’s unclear exactly what occurs next. Although it’s clear that Newcastle is particularly interested in the former Chelsea young player, the fact that they haven’t yet agreed to pay Palace’s asking price may indicate that they never will.
Even still, it would be quite disappointing if Guehi were not signed at this time, especially considering that he is apparently eager to transfer to St. James’ Park.

Not signing Marc Guehi would be embarrassing for Newcastle
In the PSR age, signing players is not an easy task, especially for wealthy Premier League teams.
