Andy Gray has been left angered after learning of the exit of the Everton stadium announcer from Goodison Park.

Co-host Richard Keys broke the news live on beIN Sports’ Sports Saturday [August 17]. Following the firing of famed PA announcer Graeme White in the summer, Gray promised to “make a phone call” to the club.

Simon Ross, a radio broadcaster, took over for White [Liverpool Echo, July 9]. Ross fills the position he had from 2005 to 2015 before to White’s arrival.

“Just one sour note for me from Goodison… you’ve sacked your stadium announcer,” Keys turned to face Gray.

In response, Gray said, “Have they really fired him? I am aware that a former stadium announcer will be joining them.

If they just got rid of him, it is incorrect. They were able to collaborate. That isn’t typical of us to do.

“Perhaps it will be fixed. I’ll give you a call later.

Everton in uncertainty off the field

Everton is going through an uncertain period, as they have for a substantial amount of time.

Well-known radio personality Ross is the voice that many at Goodison remember when it comes to stadium announcers, but White also had his own flair; it really comes down to choice. Gray raises a good point, though, in that they could have collaborated, especially starting with the upcoming season at the new stadium.

Regarding other decisions made off the field, it’s difficult to predict when Toffees supporters will again be able to feel completely at ease about the club’s future.

It’s anybody’s guess with debts piling up, ambition still present but a takeover impractical due to several failures and legal issues.

In order to proceed with a formal proposal, John Textor, who is the most recent partner to be allowed an exclusivity period of discussions with owner Farhad Moshiri, must first give up his forty-five percent ownership in Crystal Palace.

It appears that supporters’ expectations of a less stressful 2024–25 campaign are unmet.
