The Grand Slam season is over for 2024, with all eyes now turning to the Asian swing and the WTA Finals at the end of the year.
The four majors undoubtedly caused quite a few surprises in 2024, but a few well-known names also experienced tremendous success at the Grand Slam level.
We examine the five women who have won the most matches in the Australian Open, French Open, US Open, and Wimbledon, with the Grand Slam competition ending in January of next year.
5) Emma Navarro – 14
Navarro had a breakthrough season that improved her performance in every Grand Slam tournament and led to her making it to the US Open last four.
Navarro advanced to the first major semifinal after defeating opponents like Paula Badosa and Coco Gauff in five matches.
The American sensation had already advanced to her first-ever Wimbledon quarterfinal and her first-ever Roland Garros fourth round, so her streak of success wasn’t the only one.
Additionally, Navarro began the year by making it to the Australian Open’s third round for the first time, which led to a total of 14 major victory victories.
4) Iga Swiatek – 15
Swiatek won the French Open for the third time in a row in Paris, capping off another incredible year.
In the second round against Naomi Osaka, the world number one had to preserve a match point, but she went on to win every set after that.
She is only ranked fourth on this ranking since her Slam performances elsewhere did not live up to the same caliber.
She reached the quarterfinals of the US Open before losing to eventual champion Jessica Pegula, which was her greatest performance outside of Paris.
During this time, she unexpectedly lost in the third round of both the Australian Open and Wimbledon, which helped her finish 15-3 in the majors in 2024.
3) Coco Gauff – 16
Despite criticism of her playing in 2024 and the fact that she did not repeat as US Open champion in 2023, Gauff still had a strong year at the Slam level, winning 16 matches.
It took eventual winner Aryna Sabalenka to defeat her in her first semi-final match of the year, which she won at the Australian Open.
After that, the American competed in another Paris semifinal, losing to Swiatek, the ultimate winner, once more.
She lost to Navarro in the fourth round of both the US Open and Wimbledon, which was less successful for her. Nevertheless, she is one of the select few players who has advanced to the second week of every Slam.

Thanks to her victories in the Australian and US Opens, Sabalenka, the dominant player of the hard court Slams in 2024, shares first place with Paolini with 18 match wins.
In Melbourne, Sabalenka successfully defended her championship to begin the year. She defeated Zheng Qinwen in the last four and went on to win her second major singles title.
In support of that, the world No. 2 went on to win her maiden US Open championship, upsetting Navarro in the round of sixteen before holding off Pegula in a thrilling finale.
Because Sabalenka was forced to retire from Wimbledon owing to a shoulder injury, she only participated in one other Slam in 2024, which makes her standing at the top of the list even more astounding.
She battled sickness and made it to the final eight of the French Open before suffering an unexpected loss to Andreeva.
