Although Chris Sutton calls the Everton supporters’ demands on Sean Dyche “ridiculous,” he acknowledges that the manager “needs” a response.

The Toffees have lost all three of their games thus far in the 2024–25 Premier League season, which is their final one at Goodison Park.

In the last match before the international break, Everton’s 3-2 home loss to Bournemouth, after leading 2-0 in the 86th minute, was a new low.

As expected, Evertonians reacted angrily to Dyche’s surrender; several even called for his dismissal on the internet.

Sutton thinks Dyche did enough to lead Everton to 12th place last season if they hadn’t been docked eight points, and that’s a “ridiculous” perspective to adopt.

The former striker for Blackburn Rovers acknowledges that the Toffees need to improve quickly, but he doesn’t think that will happen this weekend away at Aston Villa.

Everton manager Sean Dyche is under pressure following his team’s recent collapse against Bournemouth. Although I think it’s absurd that some of their supporters suddenly seem to be against Dyche, he does need a win, and sadly for him, Villa Park is not a location where I see Everton winning anything, Sutton told BBC Sport.

The Toffees lost badly there 4-0 the previous season, and even though they will fight, they won’t win this time around either.

The number of goals Villa score may vary depending on Ollie Watkins’s level of fitness. He is a doubt for an injury after being left out of the England squad, which is unfortunate for him even if he is on my fantasy team.

Ollie Watkins to return for Aston Villa’s clash with Everton

About Watkins, Unai Emery has confirmed that he and Ezri Konsa will be available to play this weekend, which has benefitted Villa and hurt Everton.

With Watkins, Emery stated, “He is getting better step by step and he is in the squad, and being in the squad [the] thinking is that he will be available to play tomorrow.”

He continued, “Yes,” in reference to Konsa, who hobbled off during England’s 2-0 Nations League victory over Finland earlier in the week. The players, who are part of the squad, are returning from playing for their national teams. After that, we don’t have any major problems.
