With the publishing of his biography in October, Maple Leafs legend Mats Sundin—who now holds the team record for goals and points—is starting a new chapter in his life as a writer.
Many people consider the player who holds the franchise records for goals (420) and points (987) to be among, if not the best to ever wear blue and white. A nation came to love Sundin because of his signature backhand shot, contagious grin, modest demeanor, and ardent love for the club and city. It’s difficult to find someone who doesn’t like Sundin.
With 564 goals and 785 assists over the course of his 18-year career, he scored an amazing 1,349 points, excellent for 30th place all-time behind players like Jean Beliveau, Jarome Iginla, and Larry Murphy. The Swede is currently, however, pursuing a different course for his career.
Beginning on October 21st, Sundin will be embarking on a book tour around Ontario in conjunction with the publishing of his memoir, “Home and Away.” After being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012, he will travel throughout Ontario, stopping in Toronto and Orangeville before moving north to Barrie, Oshawa, Peterborough, North Bay, and finally, the cold confines of Sudbury.
If someone would like to buy tickets for the book tour, which includes a sit-down lecture with Mats Sundin and a customized copy of the book, please
