Footballer Andy Carroll is divorcing his wife, former Towie star Billi Mucklow, after two years of marriage.
The pair, who supposedly had a difficult relationship at times, discreetly split up in July and are currently taking steps to dissolve their union.
Billi stayed in Essex at their family home, but Carroll, a former footballer for Newcastle United, just joined with Bordeaux in France and has been living overseas. “Billi and I have privately separated earlier this year, and we are under way with our divorce proceedings,” Carroll stated in a statement. Our family has had a difficult few months, but we are still moving forward in a peaceful manner for our kids.
“Andy and Billi care about each other a lot and have made some great memories together, but decided it was best for the family if they went their separate ways having grown apart,” an insider source told The Sun. They continue to put the children first, strive to be the best parents they can be, and treat one another with respect.
The insider also disclosed that Andy and Billi desire a “straightforward” divorce procedure that benefits both parties.
The last time Billi, who posts on social media frequently, shared a photo of Andy was 14 weeks ago on Instagram. Andy last shared a picture of Billi on Instagram more than a year ago. It showed her and their five kids in the Madjeski Stadium bleachers in August 2023.
After being together for 11 years, the couple’s relationship almost ended after Andy was caught on camera having sex with two different women while on a bachelor trip in Dubai. Billi removed her £200,000 engagement ring and fled their Essex house when the pictures went viral.
She did, however, subsequently forgive Andy after Taylor Jane Wilkey, one of the ladies involved, made it clear that nothing improper had occurred and that Andy had acted with dignity toward them.
