Wout Weghorst, Bertrand Traoré, Kian Fitz-Jim, and Jordan Henderson were all out of the game for Ajax due to injuries. AjIn addition, the hosts rested a few players in front of their league matchup with Sparta Prague. In the second half, Slavia Prague showed improvement, and Remko Pasveer was brought into play. An hour later, Owen Wijndal, Anton Gaaei, and Chuba Akpom all came on for Ajax in a triple substitution. It did little to stop the bleeding, as Tomas Chory’s header in the 67th minute marked the eventual equaliser. Youri Baas was then given a second yellow card, bringing Ajax down to eleven players. Ajax, nevertheless, held on for a point, giving them four points total.
